The trade will enable trainee performs mainly routine duties in electrical installation with some limited autonomy in defined contexts and within established parameters. A competent worker is expected to have basic job specific knowledge and skills to observe workplace safety and procedures at the workplace, use hand and power tools, use measuring equipment, maintain Electrical appliances, Install Wiring systems, install lighting and power circuits, carry out earthing and protection of electrical circuits as outlined in the QP and NOS. The training shall be offered as per the level descriptors of KNQF Level 2 leading to the award of National Skills Certificate (NSC) I. The training is intended to facilitate acquisition of skills, knowledge and attitudes to enable the trainee work in both formal and informal employment and to empower the worker to pursue further training in related disciplines.
